📦 Shopify Return & Refund Policy (Sample)
Returns
We accept returns within [7 / 14 / 30] days of delivery. To be eligible for a return:
- The item must be unused, unworn, and in original packaging
- The item must be in the same condition as received
- Proof of purchase (order number or receipt) is required
According to Shopify, you can define your own return window, shipping rules, and restocking fees, so adjust this section based on your store needs.
Non-returnable items
The following items cannot be returned:
- Final sale or discounted items
- Customized or personalized products
- Beauty/personal care items (if opened)
Shopify allows marking such products as “final sale”, meaning customers cannot request returns for them.
Refunds
Once we receive and inspect your return:
- We will notify you of approval or rejection
- If approved, your refund will be processed within [5–10 business days]
- Refunds will be issued to your original payment method
Shopify processes refunds directly from the order and sends money back to the original payment method or store credit.
Return Shipping
- Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the item is defective or incorrect
- Shipping fees are non-refundable (unless due to our error)
You can also set flat return fees or free returns inside Shopify settings.
Exchanges
We only replace items if they are:
- Defective
- Damaged
- Incorrect
Restocking Fee (Optional)
